The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. We perform cutting-edge research in the fields of matter and materials, energy and environment and human health. By performing fundamental and applied research, we work on sustainable solutions for major challenges facing society, science and economy. PSI is committed to the training of future generations. Therefore about one quarter of our staff are post-docs, post-graduates or apprentices. Altogether PSI employs 2100 people.
At PSI our team is located at the Center for Radiopharmaceutical Sciences and we are engaged in the development of well-defined antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for therapeutic and/or diagnostic applications. By conjugating antibodies with therapeutic molecules (drugs) to create antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), the drugs can be delivered in a targeted manner, i.e. directly and specifically to the diseased tissue within the human body avoiding healthy cells. In our Laboratory we have now developed a new proprietary technology platform to conjugate the drug (or payload) to the antibody using enzymes. This technology platform will now be commercialized through a start-up from PSI that is currently in foundation.
To further develop the technology and to strengthen our team we are looking for a
with strong skills in interdisciplinary projects
Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration. You will profit from a systematic training on the job, in addition to personal development possibilities and our pronounced vocational training culture. If you wish to optimally combine work and family life or other personal interests, we are able to support you with our modern employment conditions and the on-site infrastructure.
The employment contract will (initially) be limited to 1 year. After one year, there is a possibility to join the company and the unique chance to shape a biotech start-up developing a next-generation technology platform from its very beginning is given. This includes hands-on experience in building-up of a state-of-the art laboratory.
