The Pharma Technical Operations (PT) business function is going through profound transformation and driving towards truly end-to-end processes and efficiency across all elements of the PT value chain. The adoption of cloud based solutions are becoming the norm. The PT Informatics organization wants to strengthen its capabilities to support solutions that will be operating in a highly regulated, fully compliant and secure cloud environment.
In your role you will become a member of the Architecture and Emerging Technologies Chapter. You will be assigned to a squad within PT Informatics that focus on the implementation of a cross-functional Veeva based document management solution.
Your role will be to lead the design, development and implementation of this SaaS solution by using architectural design principles in order to translate Roche's business strategy into a fit-for-purpose solution. This effort will include as well the development of a transition strategy that will cover the move of the current on-premise based Documentum solution to the future cloud based Veeva solution.
As Solution Architect/Technical Lead you will:
Perform the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required to ensure that information systems are designed and evolve appropriately
Work with our business groups to understand their business processes and information needs and work with other members of our informatics organization to identify and design solution options.
Create and maintain a solution lifecycle roadmap including the technology lifecycle management.
Document and maintain the solution as-is state in the Enterprise Architecture Management Tool
Collaborate with the broader architecture community to ensure that the solutions align with target architectures and technology roadmaps.
Work in an international environment that includes collaboration with colleagues in other Roche functions and regions
The ideal candidate
Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
Veeva Grey Belt (Implementor) or Veeva Orange Belt (Architect) certification is a plus
Knowledge of the TOGAF architecture framework or comparable architecture methodologies is a plus
3-5 years of experience in designing, developing and implementing large-scale software solutions.Proven experience as a Technical Lead in developing and implementing applications.
3+ years of experience in the document management space with products like Veeva or Documentum.
Experience with the Veeva platform and it's API layer as well as the integration of Veeva with other on-premise and cloud based applications.
Ability to build/create proof of concept/pilot applications to showcase platform functionality to business partners/stakeholders.
Extensive experience and proficiency in building solutions using programming languages like Python (PySpark, Scrapy, SpaCy etc), R , Java etc.
Solid knowledge of integration patterns and best practices such as synchronous vs. asynchronous communications, RESTful APIs, messaging, publish-subscribe, REST, SOAP, Web Services, Mulesoft

Standard hours with flexibility to participate in virtual meetings outside of normal business hours
