Our legal team works in a highly dynamic and exciting environment and supports the Group Board of Directors, the main business functions and the countries in a variety of legal areas of practice and challenges. To strengthen this team, we’re searching for a highly qualified Corporate Counsel reporting to the Group General Counsel.
From day one, the Corporate Counsel will manage his own areas of responsibility and interact with various external and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has proven experience with dynamic, international businesses and is highly motivated to be a hands on lawyer in terms of practice and matter handling, take responsibility, take initiative, be self standing and make a difference for the Legal Team and the Selecta Group. The objective of this role is therefore:
A Swiss corporate lawyer with solid all-rounder knowledge who appreciates working independently
Own management of different geographical and functional sub-areas of the legal function
Oversee strategic one-off projects from development through successful implementation
Working in a lean, cooperative legal team, with a high degree of personal autonomy and initiative.
Your responsibilities would be:
Corporate Law, including corporate governance of the group, corporate housekeeping of the Swiss entities, including the Group Entity
Participate in analysing requests for proposals, negotiations and drafting of legal documents and contracts (with clients, partners, suppliers etc.)
Responsible for the DACH region, including legal advice for the business, dispute management and managing external counsel
Participate in proactive group projects of the legal function such as compliance including data protection, contract management, M&A projects, creation of legal tools and templates
Participate in major financing and restructuring projects
Assisting HR in employment related matters under Swiss law
Research and implement changes based on new legal requirements
Fully qualified attorney with minimum 5 years’ experience as in-house counsel or in a reputable international law firm
Excellent knowledge of Swiss corporate law including corporate governance
Comprehensive general knowledge in various areas of law relevant to the company’s business, in particular general commercial law
Pragmatic approach dealing with individuals from many backgrounds and a strong communicator
Fluent in written and spoken German and English (Italian and/or Spanish is a plus)
Ability to work independently, as well as being a strong team player within a multidisciplinary and multicultural network
High level of commitment to service delivery also in challenging and complex circumstances
A strong personality with a high awareness of commercial issues who performs excellently also under pressure and meets deadlines
A good negotiator with strong interpersonal and social skills
