Intern/Consultant - Sustainability Operating Model Transformation (Geneva/Zurich)
The opportunity: your next adventure awaits
Join us in helping clients navigate current and upcoming sustainability (due diligence) legislations. We value collaboration and critical thinking, encouraging our team to engage in meaningful discussions that foster an environment where innovative ideas thrive. We are seeking a professional candidate who can work independently and contribute to our agile, and rapidly growing team that operates with a startup mindset, offering flexibility and autonomy.
Your key responsibilities
- As an intern or consultant within EY's Swiss Sustainability Tax team, you focus on compliance with sustainability regulations and work at the intersection of business, legal, data and IT
- Contribute to projects related to various regulations, including the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR incl. Digital Product Passport)
- Contribute to tasks and deliverables along the entire project lifecycle, incl. business development, proposals, project delivery, events, etc.
- Engage primarily with multinational corporations on large transformation projects, including the adaptation of processes, governance and IT systems (incl. ERP and sustainability management platforms) for compliance and strategic/operational decision-making
- Work within international project teams, from early regulatory impact assessments to system implementation
- Apply financial modeling techniques to assess compliance as well as non-compliance costs, and calculate embedded CO2 emissions, particularly for scalable solutions and tools
- Assist companies in applying for grants and subsidies and leveraging financial modeling
- Explore opportunities in the nexus between sustainability, customs, transfer pricing and operating model transformations
What we look for
- A (post) master's degree in economics, tax, finance, law, engineering, natural sciences, computer science or equivalent
- While prior experience in ESG regulations is not required, we seek hands-on and quick learners who can adapt to fast-evolving legislations
- Ideally, you have experience with data modelling and analytics and are comfortable with tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI or equivalent
- You want to contribute to lasting positive environmental and/or social changes by helping large organizations transform from within
- Attention to detail, a passion for new projects and challenges, and a desire for continuous learning, particularly in the field of sustainability
- We're looking for people who see opportunities instead of challenges, who ask better questions to seek better answers
- We're looking for people who seek out and embrace diverse perspectives, who value differences, and team inclusively to build safety and trust
- Full working proficiency in English. German or French is considered a plus
