Trading Assistant

We are looking for someone motivated and eager to join our global cotton trading team in Winterthur as a Trading Assistant to provide general administrative support and assume increasing responsibilities. In this role, you will work diligently, productively and with a keen attention to detail. This position will provide proactive and interactive exposure to the global cotton trade.
Key Accountabilities:
- Contract management: accurate, complete and timely creation and sending of sale contracts, amendments and other related documents – based on instructions of traders. Handling payment requests from our customers and agents after execution of sale contracts.
- Updating daily price list and distributing to external counterparts.
- Member of price fixation team: entering cotton futures orders in trading platform (TT), based on the instructions of our counterparts.
- Compile, process, analyse, summarize relevant data and information, and present to relevant persons, including but not limited to obtaining market information and circulate it internally in an adequate way.
- Supporting traders with any other daily work tasks as required.
- Learning all aspects of physical cotton trading (including but not limited to basis trading, cotton qualities, contract execution, logistics, risk management).
These are the competencies we are looking for
- 2-5 years of experience within commodity trading, preferably in relation to soft/agri commodities, and ideally in operations/execution/logistics.
- Commercial education in relevant business field.
- Fully proficient in English and German. Any other languages are of additional benefit.
- High level of computer literacy, including proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc), and any additional knowledge of relevant software tools can be an extra advantage.
- Highly adaptable, reactive and flexible to the dynamic trading environment and a proactive approach to managing tasks and completing priorities.
- Resilient and able to work under pressure.
- Detail oriented, numerical agility.
- Commercial mindset and entrepreneurial thinking.
- Committed team player who is willing to be flexible and assist with a whole range of tasks to support colleagues.
- Swiss working permit (incl EU citizens)
