Short Description
The AO Davos Courses are the global flagship event of the AO Foundation. They have been organized since 1960, and today bring around 1.400 surgeons from over 80 countries to Davos each year.
This role is essential in planning for and executing the event and reports to the AO Davos Courses Manager. The Project Manager is the AO Davos Courses team lead for the logistics & operations workstream and works closely with team leads and other relevant staff of other contributing areas, as well as with our local partners. The aim is to ensure all logistical and operational processes are optimized, properly communicated to all stakeholders and executed in a timely and efficient manner. The AO Davos Courses Manager and the education events team will ensure the support needed to prepare for and during the event.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead logistics & operations workstream for AO Davos Courses, ensuring smooth planning and execution
- Manage budget and resources for logistics & operations, focusing on cost control and sustainability
- Coordinate venue setup, shipping, catering, and side meetings and activities, including ownership of Opening Ceremony, AO Night, and AO Center Tour
- Align with key external partners (Congress Center, Davos Destination Organization, Davos Spital) for seamless collaboration
- Responsible for room allocation, security concept, and temporary staff management
- Ensure efficient airport and local transfers together with transfer coordinator
- Responsible for such other logistics & operations related tasks as
- Logistical support for organization of Chairs meeting
- Organization of SAMD (Alpine Mittelschule Davos) program
- Other relevant tasks
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement through process and communication optimization and stakeholder engagement
Main Requirements
- A bachelor's degree
- A minimum of five years of event management experience, ideally in similar positions
- Proven experience in organizing complex events with multiple stakeholders
- Project and process management skills
- Solution- and service-oriented attitude
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to constructively cooperate with different areas and stakeholders
- Strong communication skills in English and German
- Familiarity working in a cross-cultural and cross-discipline environment
