The New Development System Engineer will play a crucial role as a part of a Global Product Development team and would work closely with the Firmware Developers, Cybersecurity Expert, Test Engineers, V&V Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Compliance Engineer, Principal New Development Architect, Industrialization Manager, Product Manager and Chief Technical Officer to develop industrial Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) systems in accordance with the industrial norms and compliances to tackle the upcoming market needs.
In this positions you would require becoming an integral part of the New Development team and provide technical support and know-how to innovate, design, prototype, Monobloc AC UPS, Inverters and DC UPS Solution. It will be important that you provide technical expertise in product development, V&V and industrialization activities and develop team members to be autonomous and efficient in dedicated activities. A tendency to challenge the team for the betterment of the organization and improvement of efficiency and the quality of the deliverables is important to bring the best out of the team members.
Your responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to the team in product designing modelling, prototyping, V&V and defining product features, interfaces, and interactions up to industrialization level.
Work closely with the new product development team and support and empower them in defining levels of system building-blocks and components- assembly and sub-assembly documentation for internal and customer use.
Support and guide team members for efficient design rule development and requirement management by defining system and component level requirements based on the marketing and stakeholder requirements.
Support the incremental development of power electronic components and release-based requirement and test management and documentation.
Challenge the status-quo to encourage team members to think outside the box to create a product that is ready for future opportunities.
Consider reliability, quality, cost, production efficiency and lean manufacturing in mind while supporting the development of the new product and accordingly take the design and component decisions.
Support the team to find state-of-the-art solutions for special applications to support existing and new targeted market segments, including NPP.
Encourage the team to bring out their best and develop an environment of learning every day.
Support customer faced documentations on the technical side to onboard existing and new customers on new products and technologies.
Your qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Power Electronics and Electrical Engineering or related engineering sciences.
- 5+ years’ experience in UPS Development/Design/Application/Operation or IGBT and Thyristor -based Power Electronic Devices and Component Development.
- Experience with creating electronic circuit diagrams, Power PCB layouts, PCB design software and dealing with common electronic test and measuring devices are required.
- Experience of requirement and test management based on V-model and agile V-model.
- Experience in UPS design, application and operations.
- Experience with microprocessors and DSPs in connection with the control of power electronic components is desirable.
- Knowledge and good understanding in Product Management.
- Customer experience in the field of UPS and related applications.
- Ideally, you have already implemented relevant projects.
- Written and oral fluency in English, knowledge of German is a plus.
