The Design Coordinator is a key position within the eVape Design Team that own's the Design Process End to End, and who implements efficiencies in the process to achieve excellence in execution on Artwork Adaptation and Printing Quality for all markets.
The DC is the link between the 'Design Team' and the 'Printing and Converting Team' and a key partner within the multifunctional team to provide input on timings, technical needs, regulatory compliance, etc. in order to deliver the design intent, fit for use across markets and regulatory templates needed.
This role requires a deep understanding of brands' visual identities, packaging strategy, printing technologies and technical knowledge to achieve final printed, design intent across formats and substrates with excellence. Likewise, strong leadership, collaboration and project management, previous experience working with Design Managers and Multifunctional teams in big corporate organizations, or Artwork Studios.Detailed description:- Own the Design Process E2E:
- Coordinate activities and inputs needed from the MF team, to finalize design concepts and templates, such as collecting TDs, technical inputs (bar codes, tax stickers, etc.) and any input needed to finalize the design templates and that can affect the design intent.
- Develop design matrixes for the different HWs sizes, keeping true to original approved design intent and ensure Artwork Adaption of global templates (DHLs) are approved accordingly in the PLM system.
- Develop the adaptation to plain packaging and any other market specific needs, following the design intent given by the design managers.
- Coordinate handovers with the Printing and Converting team, including shipping samples to the supplier
- Collaborate with the Printing and Converting team when developing DHLs to ensure Artwork adaptations are done with excellence, and all related to legal and regulatory requirements are implemented.
- Own the physical Printing Quality and ensuring printed excellence across all packaging, from design intent to the shelf.
- Coordinate color targets with local printer and if needed, attend color targets production / exploration, together with the Design Manager.
- Coordinate print trials with Printing and Converting team, provide feedback and approvals to the printer during print trials, and ensure final commercial runs are also approved by the design team.
- Own the digital CGI packshot approval, liaising with the Brand Team to provide high-res files for CGI creation, as well as providing physical samples of the color targets and approving final CGIs for styelguide.
- Own User Docs adaptation for final templates release, as well as the process for global templates development and approvals with the Printing and Converting team.
Experience and Qualifications Needed:- At least 10 years of experience in a Design Coordinator or Artwork Adaptation role, preferably in a large FMCG company, Artwork Studio or Production house.
- Training and experience on Printing Quality management, including working with the printers to achieve high quality pieces of complex designs, across multiple techniques and substrates.
- Fluent English language.
- Effective project management skills and process oriented.
Skills and Software needed- MS Office
- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign: understanding of graphic file constructions to be able to do small modifications to high res and print ready files.
