Job description:
- Develop technical concepts and solutions and contribute to feasibility studies to meet functional and technical requirements.
- Take ownership of software development activities, including implementation, testing, reviews and documentation.
- Define, estimate and plan software work packages, ensuring effective and timely delivery.
- Create and maintain software specifications and designs, while contributing to the overall software architecture and quality standards.
- Collaborate with software, hardware and system engineering teams throughout development and integration.
- Perform root-cause analysis of complex issues and implement robust bug fixes, including for post-market software releases.
- Ensure compliance with established development processes, quality requirements and regulatory standards, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
About the customer:
This is a hands-on engineering role at the intersection of Rust, real-time systems and physical hardware, working on software where performance, reliability and predictability are critical.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional Rust development experience, with a strong understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits and error handling
- Professional experience developing embedded or systems-level software
- Experience with real-time Linux (PREEMPT_RT) or a comparable RTOS
- Hands-on experience with CAN bus communication – essential
- Strong understanding of real-time concepts including latency, jitter and task scheduling
- Experience with asynchronous programming in Rust
- Solid Linux knowledge and familiarity with embedded build and debugging tools
- Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
