Head of Airspace Management Cell (80-100%)

Location: Dübendorf 
When: 01/10/2025 or upon availability 

Your mission:

To develop the advanced flexible use of airspace concept within Switzerland and establish the Swiss AMC as an effective and highly dynamic body to implement the collaborative decision making process to share airspaces among all actors.

Your tasks:
  • Lead and manage the operations, development and administration of the Airspace Management Cell (AMC) and its staff
  • Ensure Airspace Management (ASM) for all airspace users (CIV IFR and GAT / MIL AOT), responsible for pre-tactical operations to address the daily provision of airspace use plans and their updates
  • Special Use of Airspace Management: coordination and negotiations with internal, national and international stakeholders on regulatory and operational topics
  • Route Management: coordination with internal, national and international stakeholders on route network and Free Route Airspace (FRA) development
  • Maintain and promote partnership with Eurocontrol, Federal Office of Civil Aviation, Military Aviation Authority, Swiss Air Force, etc.
  • Represent the AMC at national and international levels
What we are looking for:
  • High school diploma, bachelor's degree or equivalent with experience in the field of Aviation; Airspace Management (ASM) or Air Traffic Management (ATM)
  • Several years of work experience in a similar environment
  • Experienced in leading national and international meetings
  • Psychological safety: You create a safe environment where people can speak up and be vulnerable without fear, and foster a culture of open feedback and feedforward
  • Credibility & accountability: You are transparent in your actions, explaining the reasoning behind them, and consistently follow through on your commitments
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to national and international meetings
  • Strong communication skills in German and English, French would be an asset
