Your role

You will work actively in our research group and support the team leader in

  • Acquisition of research projects, also on your own responsibility
  • Management and implementation of research projects
  • Presentation and publication of research results
  • Technical co-supervision of PhD students
  • Announcement and supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses
  • Management of the laboratory infrastructure
In the mid-term, there are also plans to become involved in teaching by taking over physics or mathematics courses in the Bachelor's/Master's program.

Your profile

You hold a PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or a closely related discipline. You have several years of experience in applied research in novel semiconductors, proven by publication activities and project acquisition. Ideally, you will bring complementary expertise to our team, which deals with the optoelectronic characterization and modeling of perovskite solar cells, among other things. Your previous research activities should fit in there and might include: atomic force microscopy including electrical modes (cAFM, KPFM); chemistry of novel semiconductor materials; structural and surface analysis of materials with electron microscopy or complementary and novel simulation methods. In addition to your enthusiasm for research, you are very socially competent and a team player. You are interested in participating in teaching. You have a very good command of English and ideally also German. Experience in project acquisition and an enthusiasm for writing project proposals are essential. Ideally, you will have a network in the European research landscape and/or very good contacts regional companies that are suitable for joint innovation projects in the field of novel semiconductors.
