Student Opportunity - Junior Accounts Assistant - Ticino (6-month position)

Description of the Offer

Location: Chiasso, Ticino, Switzerland

On behalf of our client, a global company operating in the precious metals and financial services industry, we are looking for a Finance or Accounting student to join its Finance team based in Chiasso, Ticino on a 6-month part-time assignment (30–60%).

This opportunity has been created to support the local accounting team during a period of increased workload related to an ERP migration project and ongoing finance transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the manual entry and processing of supplier invoices while working closely with the accounting team in Ticino and interacting regularly with colleagues based in Geneva.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within an international environment while developing practical accounting skills. The assignment is expected to start as soon as possible and will run for 6 months. Depending on operational needs, there may be the possibility to temporarily increase the workload during the assignment.

Main Responsibilities

• Process and manually enter supplier invoices into the accounting system.
• Ensure accurate and timely booking of accounting transactions.
• Support the Finance team during the ERP migration project.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Assist with basic accounting tasks as required.
• Work with Oracle, Microsoft Excel and Outlook on a daily basis.
• Collaborate with the Finance teams based in Ticino and Geneva.

We Are Looking for a Profile Meeting the Following Criteria

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Available for a 6-month part-time assignment (30–60%).
• A first experience or internship in accounting or finance is an asset.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
• Familiarity with Oracle or another ERP system is an advantage, but not required.
• Fluent Italian is mandatory, good command of English is highly appreciated.
• Detail-oriented, reliable and eager to learn.
