Cargo & Contract Operations with Demurrage Focus

  • Perform end-to-end demurrage calculations in line with charter party terms (e.g. Shellvoy, Asbatankvoy), ensuring full compliance with contractual clauses
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate demurrage and detention claims, securing timely recovery and maximizing P&L impact
  • Actively defend incoming claims, manage disputes with counterparties, and lead negotiations through to settlement
  • Monitor and control laytime statements, identify discrepancies, and challenge incorrect calculations
  • Ensure strict compliance with time-bar provisions, minimizing risk of claim rejection
  • Conduct post-voyage demurrage analysis, identifying root causes of delays and proposing corrective actions
  • Track and benchmark demurrage exposure across voyages, supporting continuous operational improvement
  • Liaise closely with traders, chartering, and operations teams to optimize laytime performance and reduce costs

Operations & Execution

  • Coordinate cargo execution from nomination to final discharge, ensuring efficient vessel turnaround and minimizing delays
  • Issue and manage full suite of operational documentation (e.g. bills of lading, NOR, SOF, LOIs) supporting demurrage claims
  • Work with terminals, agents, and master’s to ensure accurate Statement of Facts (SOF) and proper event recording
  • Oversee vessel clearance processes at load and discharge ports
  • Appoint and manage surveyors; analyse Q&Q data to support both operational performance and claim justification
  • Monitor cargo performance and operational losses impacting laytime and demurrage outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with internal HSE and vetting requirements

Russian language skills is an advantage.
