Application Support Engineer - Securities Finance (FIS SFTC/APEX/Finace)

We are currently supporting a leading Swiss private banking institution in the search for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join their Securities Finance technology team in Zurich.

We are looking for a hands-on professional with strong technical capabilities and a solid understanding of financial systems:

• 5+ years of experience in application or production support within a banking or trading environment
• Strong knowledge of Securities Finance, Securities Lending or Collateral Management
• Experience with FIS SFTC (APEX / FINACE) is highly desirable
• Technical skills in SQL and Unix/Linux (scripting is an advantage)
• Exposure to DevOps concepts, CI/CD, or general system troubleshooting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
• Fluent in English

This role sits in a front-office-facing environment and focuses on the support, stability, and continuous improvement of a Securities Lending & Borrowing platform (FIS SFTC).

In this position, you will take ownership of application support activities and ensure smooth operations of a business-critical trading system:

• Provide 1st and 2nd level support for front office users (traders)
• Ensure system stability and availability (incident management, run-the-bank activities)
• Analyze and resolve production-related issues in a structured and timely manner
• Act as a key interface between business, IT teams, and external vendors
• Support release cycles and contribute to ongoing system improvements
• Identify optimization potential and enhance processes where needed
• Work in an agile environment, contributing to regular ceremonies and planning

• Location: Zurich (hybrid model - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote within Switzerland)

• On-call duty: Only in exceptional cases
