Head of Digital Solution Development (Global)

Rieter is shaping the next era of intelligent spinning. As Head of Digital Solution Development, you will drive the global digital transformation – connecting machines, data, and people into a seamless, secure, and scalable experience. You will own the digital strategy and delivery for our Mill Management system “ESSENTIAL” and the Unified HMI Concept “Newton” transformation.

• Lead the global Digital Solutions & Controls organization and define the vision for Rieter’s Mill Management System “ESSENTIAL” and Unified HMI Concept “Newton”.
• Set and execute the global digital roadmap with Product Management and business stakeholders.
• Own software and controls development for all Rieter machinery, ensuring seamless integration and retrofit.
• Drive “Newton” controls standardization and continuous improvements in cost, quality, and development speed.
• Advance the Mill Management System “ESSENTIAL” suite across monitoring, optimization/AI, automation, service, and third party integration.
• Scale Rieter Digital Environment for secure remote access, OTA updates, cloud capabilities, and industrial grade data collection.
• Oversee global digital programs and transformation projects, ensuring prioritization and alignment.
• Ensure on time, on budget, high quality delivery with transparent reporting, KPIs, and risk management.
• Coordinate international, cross functional teams across IT, engineering, business, and external partners.
• Build and develop a high performing engineering organization and modern development practices (Agile/Lean, DevSecOps, SRE).
• Identify synergies across digital projects and software platforms, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Guarantee cybersecurity, compliance, and global adoption of digital solutions, including readiness for ITMA 2027.

• 10+ years in software/digital product development within industrial/IoT environments.
• 5+ years leading global, multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex, mission critical systems.
• Ideally has a track record of leading a Competence Center, PMO, or digital organization to deliver measurable impact.
• Deep expertise in machinery controls, embedded/edge systems, cloud/data platforms, and digital architectures.
• Strong program, portfolio, and vendor management skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate business needs into clear strategies.
• A strategic, outcome driven leader with high standards and strong people leadership skills.
• A clear communicator who simplifies complexity and influences across cultures.
• Fact based, customer focused, and committed to quality and continuous improvement.
• A coach and talent developer who champions diversity and collaboration.
• Degree in engineering or related field; MBA is a plus.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.
