We are looking for a
Senior Communications Manager (70-90%)
at Gi Group Holding Switzerland. As part of the Corporate Sales and Marketing department, in your role as lead corporate communication you will support the growth of our international multiband company (Gi Group, Gi Life Sciences, Grafton and Bautech) by creating engaging content for our B2B and B2C audiences in German, French, Italian and English. The position can be based in Neuchâtel (HQ), Biel or Bern.
External communication:
- Using our country strategy and content pillars as a basis, you will create engaging content for our B2B and B2C audiences. Publish these contents on our website, blog, and social media channels to increase brand awareness.
- You will collaborate with our social media agency to develop and manage the editorial calendar, approve content, oversee the publication schedule and report on progress, making improvements as necessary.
- You will also support our thought leader ambassadors in positioning themselves with regard to relevant topics.
- You will develop a PR strategy and engage with news outlets, journalists, and other relevant stakeholders.
- You will handle all media enquiries.
Internal communication:
- You are responsible for our internal communication channels, including the intranet, employee newsletter, town hall meetings and project/department-related communication.
- As a communications consultant, you will create content and provide support to other departments, including proofreading and translation services.
- You will also be responsible for producing the storyline and content for our annual employee event.
Media monitoring and reputational management:
- Monitor, analyse and communicate the results of external communications on a regular basis.
- Responsible for crisis management and monitoring of reputational issues, as well as the development of proactive and reactive media statements.
Collaboration:
- Coordinate and manage in-house translations.
- Support team members from Sales and Marketing with product- or campaign-related communication.
- Provide communication support for local activities, such as events or partnerships.
- Develop tools and processes that support execution excellence and facilitate collaboration.
- Participate in different global projects as the Swiss communication expert.
Your background:
- A degree in Communications/PR, Business Administration or a comparable field
- Several years of strong communication experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on communications. Experience of working in an agency is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to develop stories and write content for all kinds of channels (live, digital and print).
- Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Interest in agile working and management methods, and an enjoyment of taking on responsibility.
- Experience of managing corporate social media channels (ideally LinkedIn), focusing on community building, audience engagement and employer branding.
- Demonstrated experience of leading external agencies and ensuring effective, consistent and brand-aligned strategies across platforms and stakeholders.
- Proven expertise in media relations and thought leadership positioning with the ability to develop compelling storylines and maintain strong relationships with journalists, outlets and industry opinion leaders.
- Team spirit: You are a good communicator who is open to other perspectives and brings lightness and humor to your work.
- Very good German or French skills, supplemented by a good knowledge of the other language, and solid English skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel within Switzerland.
