Associate Scientist (m/f/d)

As our Associate Scientist, you will be part of CREAAS (Centre for Research Analytics, Application, and Solutions). You will be serving as a key member of the innovation hub of dsm-firmenich, HNC (Health Nutrition & Care).
Your primary responsibility will be to support business units in application development and solutions creation, with a particular focus on galenic format innovations and solid dosage form optimization. You will actively lead and execute projects to translate cutting-edge science into impactful, scalable solutions, emphasizing the optimization of bioactive delivery and product stability. You will contribute to the development of Investigational Products for dietary supplement clinical studies and provide support to other stakeholders in the patent application process.

Your key responsibilities

  • Running experiments and managing multiple Pharma and Dietary Supplement projects.
  • Developing formulations, including solid dosage formats, and monitoring their stability.
  • Initiating or supporting innovation projects aimed at improving drug delivery systems.
  • Supporting projects focused on the development of Market-Ready Solutions (MRS).
  • Providing technical and scientific support for patent applications and technical reports.
  • Actively coordinating and collaborating with other scientists and technicians to ensure the timely development of Investigational Products for use in clinical studies.

You bring

  • Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Hands-on experience specifically in solid dosage formulation development (e.g., tablet, capsule) and standard analytical techniques (e.g., dissolution, stability testing). Experience with other galenic formats is considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with lipid nanoparticle preparation and characterization methods (e.g., Microfluidic Technology, Dynamic Light Scattering, Zeta Potential Measurement) and associated biological analysis.
  • Capability of independently identifying solutions, executing experiments, analyzing data, and extrapolating results.
  • Previous experience with drug delivery systems as well as affinity for providing technical support for patent applications in drug and dietary supplements segments.
  • Project management skills, especially in the context of pharmaceutical or dietary supplement product development, are a significant advantage.
  • A true team player who can collaborate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
