Trainee Program in Land Management

About the trainee program

Join Omya's Trainee Program within the Industrial Excellence department and kick-start your career in a globally operating industrial environment focused on digitalization, data management, and operational excellence. Over the course of 15 months, you will gain hands-on experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), land and resource data management, while working with advanced tools such as ArcGIS and contributing to innovative digital solutions.

The program is designed to give you practical exposure to land asset management and modern technologies such as AI-driven data processing. You will collaborate with international teams across multiple sites and gain valuable insights into the operational, environmental, and compliance aspects of mining and industrial processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, GIS-related Computer Science, or a comparable field

• First working experience in GIS or geoinformatics is an advantage

• Strong knowledge of GIS tools (e.g. especially ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise & Web-Applications, ACAD, FME ) and spatial data management

• Understanding of spatial data concepts such as coordinate systems and data transformation

• Interest in digital innovation and AI applications in data processing and reporting

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and in an international, cross-functional environment

• Fluent in English. Willingness and ability to travel internationally
