Laboratory Assistant - Seed Care

Key Responsibilities

• Safely handle and precisely measure chemicals, biological inoculum, seeds, soil, and other lab materials.
• Perform small-scale seed treatment applications and associated testing activities.
• Prepare and maintain experiments involving seeds and seedlings, including:
• Preparing growing media
• Planting seeds
• Performing timely and accurate watering throughout the experiment
• Capture high-quality photographs and time-lapse sequences to document experiments.
• Learn, understand, and follow all safety and operational procedures
• Work closely with the Assurance & Innovation Team to schedule tasks for efficient and transparent workload management.
• Accurately document results and maintain clear records.
• Maintain a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness.
• Manage incoming mail, samples, and outgoing waste streams in compliance with site guidelines.

What you bring:

• Completed apprenticeship in a scientific laboratory discipline or an equivalent vocational qualification from a European institution.
• Practical training and work experience in a scientific laboratory, demonstrating safe and accurate working practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and proven ability to learn new IT systems quickly.
• Experience handling chemicals, biological materials, and working with seeds/plants is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively in German and English (B2 level or equivalent); additional languages are a plus.
• Strong team player with a results-oriented mindset.
• Reliable, organized, and proactive in maintaining high standards of laboratory operations.
