As part of a small and diverse team supporting a range of banking applications, the Front Arena Developer/Support Engineer would be responsible for supporting the business areas in implementing and maintaining business applications and tools, in particular FIS' Cross-Asset Trading and Risk platform (Front Arena).
The role ensures compliance with the Bank's standards for system documentation, testing, and change management, as well as provides production support for Front Arena and other critical applications.
Responsibilities will include:
- Customise packaged business applications in particular Front Arena and develop bespoke small to medium-sized departmental tools, interfaces, and web-based services.
- Provide production support for business applications, ensuring compliance with the Bank's standards for system documentation, version control, testing, and change management.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure systems design, integration, and change management align with organisational standards.
- Stay informed on major technology trends relevant to the business area and contribute input to the banking technology strategy.
- Support departmental tools and applications, including those developed internally or supplied by external providers, ensuring their effective use and maintenance.
- Lead or contribute to project teams, ensuring objectives are met.

As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a Front Arena Developer/Support Engineer with experience of FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform / Front Arena to join the business facing Trading Applications Team.
You will possess as many of the following skills as possible:
- 3+ years recent experience as a Developer or Support Engineer for Front Arena (FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform)
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments and their integration into Treasury and Risk Management framework or at least familiarity with front office activity.
- Solid understanding of business processes related to trading, Risk, Back Office, records management, settlements and financial messaging.
- Experience working in agile development environments and familiarity with agile principles.
- Ability to explore domains beyond current areas of expertise and write clear system and user documentation in English
Nice to have:
- Experience with banking applications beyond Front Arena (Findur is a big advantage), Murex, and other systems that support trade management, settlement, and reconciliation
- Python experience, especially with Front Arena extensions, to be able to develop backlog code before testing or release
- Experience with stream-processing systems such as Kafka
- Knowledge of micro-services architecture and experience in API design and development
- Experience with .NET/C#
- Experience participating in a support role or rotation as an L2/L3
Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
- 2 years contract with likelihood of extension up to five years
