Your role and responsibilities

As Commercial Manager, you are responsible for the commercial development and profitable growth of dnata Switzerland AG, with a strong emphasis on cargo handling services at Zurich and Geneva airports. Acting in line with the guidance of the Swiss Executive Management and the dnata Group strategy, you actively shape dnata Switzerland’s commercial activities and contribute to its sustainable market positioning.

You play a key role within the commercial department and work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, Station Managers, Cargo Managers and cross-functional stakeholders. You actively identify and develop new business opportunities, expand and renew existing customer partnerships, and take ownership of commercial negotiations. You define and agree contractual terms and conditions within the IATA SGHA framework and ensure their professional implementation across the organization, thereby directly supporting long-term value creation.

  • Lead and further develop the commercial cargo services portfolio in line with financial targets, customer expectations and dnata Group standards
  • Drive profitable growth through acquisition of new customers and expansion of existing partnerships
  • Negotiate, conclude, renew and manage cargo handling contracts (IATA SGHA) and Service Level Agreements (SLA)
  • Identify and develop new products and revenue streams to strengthen dnata Switzerland’s service offering
  • Ensure professional contract communication and implementation in close cooperation with Operations, Billing and other internal stakeholders
  • Act as a key commercial interface for customers, airport authorities and business partners
  • - Monitor market trends, customer needs and the competitive environment
  • - Represent dnata Switzerland at customer meetings, industry events and conferences
Your profile
  • Proven commercial experience within the aviation and/or air cargo environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and confidence in dealing with senior airline management and procurement stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of cargo handling operations and the aviation value chain
  • Analytical and strategic mindset with a strong affinity for figures and business performance
  • High proficiency in IT tools, in particular the MS Office suite; experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce is an advantage
  • Structured, self-driven and solution-oriented personality with high ownership mentality
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build sustainable relationships
  • Fluent in English and German; French is an advantage

The position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and is based at Zurich Airport. The role is available with a workload of 80–100% and allows up to 20% home office.
