Strategy Lead (Legal Finance ) 80-100%

PG3 AG is the family office of the Partners Group founders. Established in 2013, the firm has over 30 employees. As a FINMA-regulated asset manager, we manage a range of niche investment strategies for our founders and external investors. We focus on uncorrelated return streams that provide meaningful diversification across both underlying sectors and investment structures.

PG3 AG is seeking a Strategy Lead (Legal Finance) at an 80–100% workload for an initial period of 18 to 24 months, with the potential to evolve into a long-term leadership role.

The Legal Finance industry remains relatively young and continues to evolve, with significant uncertainty regarding its long-term structure, business model and growth dynamics. In this context, PG3 is looking for a candidate who will not only critically assess and challenge PG3’s existing Legal Finance strategy, but also actively drive and implement strategic change across the business.

This role goes beyond analysis and concept development. The successful candidate will act as a change agent, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to translate strategic insights into concrete initiatives, new structures, and improved processes. The goal is an investment platform that goes substantially beyond what can be found in the industry today. As PG3 explicitly values an independent, outside perspective, prior Legal Finance industry experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse the Legal Finance market, including trends, risks, competitive dynamics, and structural developments
• Evaluate PG3’s existing Legal Finance strategy, including positioning, operating model, governance, and investment approach
• Design a forward-looking business and operating model, including clear role definitions, governance structures, decision-making processes, and interfaces with risk and compliance
• Explore and evaluate different strategic alternatives, potential avenues for expansion, and possible shifts in direction for PG3’s Legal Finance operations, including opportunities such as vertical integration and mergers or acquisitions
• Lead and support the implementation of selected strategic and operational changes, ensuring alignment with governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements

Development Perspective

Depending on performance and business development, this role may evolve beyond the initial project horizon and develop into a future leadership position within PG3.

About you

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and multicultural environment. You should be motivated by high standards, eager to take ownership, and comfortable navigating complexity. Ideally, you bring:

• A higher-educationdegree (or equivalent) in business administration, finance, economics, or law
• 5 to 10 years of professional experience in consulting, strategy development, organizational design, transformation, or change management
• Experience in asset management would be a plus
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Strong analytical and conceptual abilities with the confidence to challenge assumptions
• A high degree of independence, objectivity, and professional maturity
• A deep sense of responsibility, flexibility, and reliability
