Job description:
  • Lead and execute an operational risk audit engagement, including documentation and document review, to evaluate and enhance risk management processes and controls by applying a risk-based methodology.
  • Prepare a clear and impactful audit report for Management and the Audit Committee, effectively communicating key audit observations and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive and robust audit documentation, conducting detailed analyses to support well-founded conclusions.
  • Ensure the audit engagement complies with professional standards and the approved audit plan.
  • Collaborate and coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and team members to deliver on audit objectives.
  • Supervise and guide a team of highly qualified audit experts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
About the customer:

As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for a Senior Audit Manager with 10+ years experience in audit and strong experience in operational risk to act as a subject matter expert in operational risk-related activities.

?This is an initial 3 month contract with start date by December 2025/January 2026.

The Senior Audit Manager will focus on leading an operational risk audit engagement covering Operational Risk Management and Resiliency. This position involve managing a small, high-performing team, engaging with senior stakeholders across the organisation, and delivering high-quality audit outcomes.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in operational risk frameworks, processes, and controls, ideally gained in a large financial institution, central bank, or international financial services organisation.

Requirements:

You will possess as many of the following skills as possible:

  • Minimum of ten years progressive audit experience within the financial services sector, a Central Bank, or an International Financial Institution, leading internal audit engagements related to operational risk activities and supervising high-performing audit teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational risk frameworks, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the three lines of defence model, operational transformation, compliance and resiliency.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Professional certifications related to internal audit (e.g. CIA) and / or risk management (e.g., FRM, PRM, or equivalent).
  • Fluency in English is required

Nice to have:

  • Work experience in operational risk management, as a second line of defence
  • Expertise in the three lines of defence model, resiliency, and process design risk.
  • A university degree in a relevant field.
