R&D Intern Chemistry (f/m/d, 6 months, 100%)

hemotune AG is a Swiss medical device start-up company originating from ETH Zurich. Our mission is to develop and scale a versatile magnetic nanoparticle platform that captures what matters most for every application. We strive to deliver solutions that enable new therapeutic strategies, optimize critical processes, and create lasting value for patients, partners, and society. To support our R&D team, we are looking for a:

We offer the unique opportunity to be a part of a dynamic award-winning start-up team and to develop a novel nanobead purification approach. You will have the chance to get hands-on lab experience with nanomaterials and to apply your knowledge accumulated during your studies. Additionally, you will gain a deeper insight into the medical device industry. Your responsibilities:

• Develop conjugation reactions to functionalize magnetic nanoparticles.
• Characterize and measure the performance of the functionalized nanoparticles.
• Develop target removal protocols and test their efficiency.
• Track, monitor and report the project progress and deliverables and present at internal meetings.

Requirements

• Excited to work in a start-up environment.
• M.Sc./Ph.D Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Proficient in English, German is a plus.
• Experienced in working in a laboratory environment.
• Familiar with chemical and/or biological standard lab techniques. Experience with nanomaterials is a plus.

Intended start date of internship: 1. December 2025
