This postdoctoral position focuses on immunological and data driven research in sarcoidosis within our Sarcoidosis Center of Excellence. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and evaluation of novel diagnostic tools, the assessment of emerging therapeutic approaches and the identification of biomarkers and predictive models to improve patient stratification and clinical outcomes. The project builds on our ongoing research involving a large, well-characterized cohort of patients with sarcoidosis, with the overarching goal of advancing personalized disease management and developing tools for predicting disease course and treatment outcomes.

Your main tasks
  • Your main responsibility will be to drive and execute ongoing and planned retrospective data-analysis studies, integrating multimodal clinical and biological data to generate novel insights into the diagnosis, clinical presentation, disease course, and treatment of sarcoidosis
  • You will work closely with our clinical and laboratory teams to jointly define research questions, develop analytical strategies, and execute research projects
  • Additionally, you will contribute to prospective clinical studies and treatment trials in patients with sarcoidosis and apply advanced data analysis approaches, including machine learning/artificial intelligence, to improve the prediction of disease course and treatment outcomes
Your profile
  • You hold a PhD in life sciences and have a strong background in immunology and data analysis, preferably using Python and/or R
  • You have experience integrating and analyzing large clinical and omics datasets, as well as familiarity with machine learning/artificial intelligence and outcome prediction tools
  • You are motivated to work in a translational and highly collaborative research environment that bridges university based research, laboratory science, and hospital based clinical practice
  • Fluency in German is an advantage but not a requirement
