Manager Strategic Initiatives Brand & Digital Experience (m/w/d) – Basel

For our client, a leading international company in the life sciences sector based in Basel, we are looking for an experienced Manager Strategic Initiatives – Brand & Digital Experience.

In this role, you will support the Brand & Digital Experience Centre of Excellence within Group Communications. You will help translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, improve internal processes, and support the further development of Roche’s digital communication and technology landscape.

Main Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Head of Brand & Digital Experience and CoE leadership to translate strategic priorities into clear workplans, measurable outcomes, and concrete actions
  • Coordinate cross-functional and cross-chapter initiatives, ensuring clarity of scope, ownership, timelines, and deliverables
  • Improve and manage internal team processes such as OKRs, prioritisation frameworks, demand management, workflows, and reporting structures
  • Support budget, financial, and resource planning, including budget tracking, purchase orders, vendor coordination, and transparent allocation of resources
  • Collaborate with IT and Informatics partners to support the management and continuous improvement of the digital technology landscape
  • Ensure digital tools and platforms are fit for purpose, compliant, user-friendly, and future-ready
  • Lead or contribute to strategic projects such as AI enablement, digital experience evolution, digital transformation pilots, and related initiatives
  • Maintain and further develop internal digital communities, knowledge hubs, gSites, onboarding materials, and communication channels
  • Coordinate internal communications for the Brand & Digital Experience CoE, including newsletters, leadership updates, meeting agendas, and internal announcements
  • Work closely with external vendors and agency partners to ensure smooth collaboration, governance, and alignment with digital standards
  • Track, analyse, and report on CoE progress, outcomes, and impact to support continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in programme management, digital communications, strategic enablement, or a similar role
  • Experience working in an international or global corporate environment
  • Proven ability to manage several cross-functional projects with competing priorities
  • Strong coordination, planning, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to align different teams, priorities, and stakeholders around common goals
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • High digital fluency and ability to understand digital tools, platforms, and communication ecosystems
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken

Nice to Have

  • Good understanding of digital ecosystems, digital tools, and governance models
  • Experience with process design, workflow management, OKRs, demand management, or team enablement systems
  • Experience with budget processes, procurement, purchase orders, or vendor management
  • Ability to translate data and insights into clear recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, collaborative, structured, and solution-oriented working style
  • Additional languages are an advantage
