Communications Manager ( Basel )
This role is a senior-level expert position reporting to the Head of Integrated Portfolio Communications Diagnostics. The position has a global scope and carries responsibility for developing integrated communication launch strategies across the Diagnostics portfolio, including Roche Diagnostics Solutions (RDS) and Roche Information Solutions (RIS). Where relevant, collaboration with Pharma communication partners will also be required to maximise overall impact.
In this temporary assignment, you will report to the Head of Diagnostics Global Functions Communications and collaborate closely with colleagues across the Diagnostics Global Customer Service organization as well as other Communications teams to implement communication strategies and initiatives.
A key focus of the role is to engage and inspire internal audiences and important stakeholders through effective communication strategies, planning and execution of targeted activities. As a communications expert, you will contribute to areas such as change communication, stakeholder engagement and function-specific content development.
You will work closely with the broader Diagnostics Communications network and partner with functional teams to define communication priorities, objectives and strategic approaches.
The position requires an agile mindset, openness to change and the motivation to actively support the transformation of the Diagnostics organization within a fast-moving and dynamic industry environment.
The successful candidate enjoys navigating complex and evolving situations and brings a creative and solution-oriented mindset. You are comfortable working in fast-paced global environments and collaborating with diverse teams across functions and leadership levels.
You are able to build trust through authentic influence, demonstrate strong judgment in complex situations and translate sophisticated topics into clear and actionable messages. Strong facilitation and communication skills are essential.
Additionally, you leverage data and technology to derive insights that support decision-making and communication strategies. Experience working in matrixed and multicultural organisations is highly valued.

Develop and execute integrated communication strategies, campaigns and narratives in collaboration with business partners and communication teams.
Align communication objectives and initiatives with overall business priorities and support impactful employee and change communication activities.
Design communication tools and strategies to effectively engage employees and support leadership communication across the organization.
Enable colleagues and leaders to strengthen their stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities.
Support the full lifecycle of integrated communication planning, including evaluation and measurement against defined objectives.
Build and maintain a strong understanding of the Diagnostics Customer Service organization and apply communication insights and business knowledge to address complex topics.
Monitor industry developments, internal changes and emerging trends relevant to strategic communication and evolving workplace practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communications, ideally within the pharmaceutical, healthcare or diagnostics industry.
Proven ability to influence outcomes through indirect leadership and collaboration across teams.
International or global professional experience.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing global communication strategies, plans and initiatives.
Strong strategic thinking and solid understanding of the healthcare or diagnostics landscape.
Excellent consulting and advisory skills, including active listening, rapid information analysis and the ability to translate insights into recommendations.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to drive outcomes without formal authority.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with experience working in matrix and network-based organizations.
Highly self-motivated and comfortable working in flexible, self-organizing team environments.
Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
