International Billing & Collections Account Manager
(Full professional proficiency in English plus one additional native language required)
Role Overview
As an International Collections Account Manager, your job is to help hospitals recover unpaid bills from patients and insurers around the world. You will communicate with debtors and insurance companies to negotiate settlements, establish payment plans, follow up on insurance claims, and resolve disputes. You will also research debtor information and ensure all cases are documented accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact debtors and insurers worldwide in a professional, assertive, and courteous manner.
- Submit and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely resolution.
- Use specialized databases and research tools to locate debtors and obtain updated contact information.
- Conduct a high volume of outbound collection calls (approx. 85% of working time).
- Negotiate settlements and payment plans to recover outstanding balances.
- Document all collection activity clearly and accurately.
- Resolve disputes and act as the link between creditors and debtors.
- Handle administrative tasks such as correspondence, client requests, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with international debt collection and data protection standards.
- Consistently meet and exceed collection targets.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency: Excellent written and spoken English (professional level) plus native fluency in another major language.
- Strong communication, active listening, and negotiation skills.
- Assertive, clear, and professional communication style.
- Highly motivated, resilient, and results-oriented.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate data, define issues, and implement solutions.
- Computer literate with solid keyboard proficiency.
- Current residence in Switzerland is required, along with a valid Swiss work permit or the legal right to obtain one (e.g., EU/EFTA citizens already residing in Switzerland).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in debt collection, sales, or call centers.
- Knowledge of travel or medical insurance claims.
