Chief Financial Officer

At our Group Headquarters in Grono, GR, we are looking for a
Chief Financial Officer
Reporting to our CEO, the role will exercise pivotal leadership, providing strategic guidance and support in a very decentralized structure. The CFO will enable scalable efficiency while empowering strong local office autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Growth: Shape and execute a long-term financial strategy that supports ambitious global growth, including capital raising and investor engagement.
- Funding & M&A Execution: Lead fundraising rounds, financial structuring, and due diligence. Drive M&A deals from inception to integration, ensuring seamless financial and operational alignment.
- Lean Central Operations: Maintain and further develop a minimalistic, high-efficiency central hub for finance, accounting, quality, innovation, IT and administration supporting the organization globally without heavy bureaucracy.
- IT & Systems Oversight: Champion ERP implementation, consolidated reporting frameworks, performance dashboards, and administrative tools. Lead digital finance transformation initiatives.
- Global Network Financial Stewardship: Act as a trusted advisor within the Executive Board, as well as to regional and local offices leadership, balancing financial discipline with entrepreneurial autonomy.
- Performance Frameworks: Implement central KPI dashboards and reporting systems to monitor network performance and strategic progress.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Swiss and international accounting standards. Oversee audit processes and enforce robust internal controls.
- Administration & Central Services: Oversee central administration including tax compliance, insurance policies, real estate leases and office facilities, and all statutory corporate obligations.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a lean central operational team, encompassing finance, IT support, and administrative coordination.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Education & Credentials: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent. MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar certification as well as lateral entrants out of engineering are welcome.
- Professional Experience: 10+ years in senior finance roles within international, entrepreneurial organizations. Proven track record in capital raising, M&A, and financial transformation.
- Entrepreneurial & Strategic Mindset: Experience working with lean, globally distributed teams. Comfortable in networked, local-leadership-driven cultures.
- Technical Expertise: Skilled in structuring deals, funding, structured financing models, and central system implementation.
- Communication & Leadership: Proficiency in either English, Italian, German or French is required. Any other of those languages is highly valued. Empathic leader, strong in negotiation, stakeholder management, and team development.
- Personal Attributes: Pragmatic, analytical, results-driven, agile and hands-on. Entrepreneur, able to work independently, drive change, and support autonomous local teams with central oversight.
The position requires regular travel to Grono, but may be based at any Swiss subsidiary. ARX is a family-owned business that has grown into a global network and remains in the hands of its employees. Becoming a company shareholder is therefore a welcome option.
