About the Role:

Are you passionate about data engineering and ready to shape scalable data ecosystems that drive impactful business decisions? We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Diagnostics Operations team. In this key position, you'll lead the development of cutting-edge data infrastructure, collaborating with data scientists, domain experts, and engineers to deliver high-quality data products and pipelines.

This is a strategic role where you'll influence data architecture, standards, and governance across global operations-while mentoring peers and fostering a culture of innovation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Architect & Build Scalable Systems:
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable real-time and batch data pipelines using best-in-class technologies.
  • Deliver High-Quality Data Products:
  • Develop robust, FAIR-compliant data products that meet business and compliance needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with stakeholders to model data landscapes and define secure, efficient data exchange methods.
  • Data Ingestion & Processing:
  • Transform diverse data sources into actionable formats using platforms such as Snowflake. Create reusable, analytics-ready pipelines.
  • Lead Governance & Mentorship:
  • Drive standards within a Data Mesh framework, contribute to data governance policies, and provide guidance to other engineers.
  • Infrastructure & Security:
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with information security standards and collaborate with infrastructure teams to shape optimal tech stacks.
  • Drive Innovation:
  • Shape the engineering roadmap, promote knowledge sharing, and elevate engineering practices.
  • Maintain Technical Excellence:
  • Stay current with data tech stacks and tools like Ataccama or Monte Carlo for observability and data quality.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including leading and mentoring teams.
  • Proven success in architecting and scaling large data systems and pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, or Scala.
  • Experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and modern data warehouses (preferably Snowflake).
  • Solid knowledge of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
  • Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiar with Git and robust testing/monitoring practices.
  • Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong team collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
  • Experience with REST APIs and data integrations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GMP, FDA) and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of machine learning workflows and platforms like Dataiku.
  • Exposure to AI-driven data products and software engineering best practices.

Why Apply?

  • Join a highly collaborative, forward-thinking team.
  • Make a measurable impact in global diagnostics operations.
  • Work on strategic, enterprise-level data initiatives.
  • Opportunity to extend contract beyond initial term.

If you're a data engineering leader ready to design and scale transformative data products, we want to hear from you.
