Accountant

As an Accountant, you will be reporting to the Head of Accounting Zug / Global Head of Consolidation and will be part of our journey, supporting Kolmar’s further growth. Your tasks:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records by documenting all transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses. This includes checking and approving invoices in the invoice approval process, booking incoming and outgoing invoices, reconciling bank accounts, reconciling accounts payable and receivable and performing foreign exchange revaluation
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Ensuring accuracy and compliance with local GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Analyzing costs, productivity, margins, and expenditures to provide insights into the company's financial health. Producing analysis reports for Management.
  • Assisting in designing and monitoring budgets while providing variance analyses to management. Supporting the preparation of financial forecasts
  • Managing external audits for smaller entities by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings. Assisting external audits of the parent company and consolidated group
  • Ensuring adherence to internal controls, tax laws, and regulatory requirements including VAT filings.

Your qualifications:

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship (Federal VET diploma in commerce – Profile E)
  • Typically requires 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational corporation or fiduciary service.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., J.D. Edwards) and advanced Excel skills are crucial for data analysis and reporting tasks
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights for decision-making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Very good German and English writing/comprehension skills
