As a (Master /Diploma Thesis) Trainee you help the team to leverage and scale-up the capabilities in the area of capital and cash-flow modelling. During the 6 months internship, the trainee ought to first get a fairly broad insight into the reinsurance world and mechanisms, especially how the reinsurance can be leveraged to address hot topics like economic value creation in a given regulatory environment. The focus can then be turned toward studying the efficiency of solutions with respect to context specific risk metrics and related analysis required, or toward applied development of our infrastructure to enable analysis, or a combination of both. We are open to thesis topic suggestion by the (diploma thesis) trainee and its professorship but also offer and wish the trainee to continue the research of previous theses and work conducted within the team. The Internship is available as of April 2018 or upon agreement for minimum 6 months (prolongation upon agreement)
We welcome students at the final stages of an Academic Degree in Computer or Actuarial Science (Scientific Computing), Quantitative Finance/Economics, Management Technology or equivalent with strong curiosity and motivation for Science to be applied to Business. The candidate should provide an advanced expertise in data analysis, scientific computing, object-oriented and functional programming (C++, Python, R). We are seeking for a proactive, business oriented, problem solving and independently acting personality with very good analytical capabilities who is eager and comfortable with the unknown as well as to work in a multinational team. Reliability, self-motivation and the willingness to learn are well-known to you. For this unique experience you demonstrate good communication skills and your English, in written and spoken is excellent; fluency in German or French is a plus.
