Our international, impact-driven philanthropic grant approach is organized in three funding programs: cancer research, libertarian, and social/education. To complement our team, we are looking for an experienced
Senior Grants Program Manager - entrepreneurial programs
In this position you will be responsible for the course and impact of our funding program(s) and oversee a significant portfolio of international grant projects. Reporting to the Foundations Director, you will provide overarching leadership as well as execution, adherence to and compliance with the philanthropic mission, strategy and goals of our foundation. While your primary responsibility is the management of our libertarian and education funding programs, you will also work with other team members on cross-cutting topics, like impact management.
Your key responsibilities include:
Develop and represent your program(s) with a strong sense of leadership and ownership
Manage and develop awarded grants within your portfolio
Design and implement partnerships with co-funders and other strategic allies
Work in close collaboration with the expert Grant Review Committee to assess grant applications, perform due diligence and formulate recommendations
Develop content and manage meetings with the Grant Review Committees, the Advisory Board and the Foundation Board as needed
Create a process of open communication with grantees and strategic partners, and create linkages, where relevant, that add value to the field
Ensure successful grant outcomes through risk identification, mitigation and management to increase impact of individual grants and grant portfolios
Closely monitor the progress of current and past grants, including the allocation of money spent to-date, progress of project, adherence to milestones and impact, etc.
We are looking for a highly resourceful and organized program manager with the following qualifications:
Bachelor degree required, Master degree preferred
In addition to other professional experience with continuously increasing responsibilities (5 years plus), also a minimum 3 years of experience managing an impact-oriented project portfolio (grant-making, impact investment, venture philanthropy, NGO, corporate foundation etc.)
Experience and network in a field associated with our libertarian or/and social/education program (must have at least one of these)
Proven ability to take ownership and lead within own areas of responsibility
Experience in developing philanthropic funding programs
Must have fluent command of English; German desired; impeccable professional written and verbal communication skills, including tailoring messages for different audiences
Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills necessary to build long-lasting and close relationships with multiple stakeholders
Passion for philanthropic work and creating a positive impact
The role is based in Switzerland and requires approximately 20% of international travel.
