We are looking for a Site Veterinarian to join the Vet Affairs Team in Zurich.
The Vet Affairs Team is part of the Pharmacology Department of the Roche Innovation Center Zurich, a leading company in the development of cancer immuno-therapeutics. As Site Veterinarian you will be working in an AAALACi accredited facility to support the scientific research for the in vivo characterization of drug candidates.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for ensuring the highest standards on animal welfare by maintaining the AAALAC accreditation, being a member of the internal ethical committees of the site, reviewing twice a year the program description for the care and use of laboratory animals and ensuring the proper health status of the animal facility
Support the 3R principle in animal research. The 3R`s (Refining, Reducing and Replacing) are key within in vivo research and, as Site Veterinarian, the candidate will support innovation and improvement within these Areas
Collaborate with the Vet Services Team at our headquarters in Basel
Support scientifically the implementation of new / more relevant tumor models and less invasive in vivo techniques in mice
Be able to perform surgeries and master standard techniques such as injections (i.v, s.c., i.p.) and bleeding techniques to support the in vivo operations team

We are looking for a candidate with experience as Site Veterinarian in the field of laboratory animals. Additionally:
You have a Dr. Vet. Med. degree
You have experience as Site Veterinarian in the field of laboratory animals
You have excellent in vivo skills in mice
You have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and are a team Player
You bring a high degree of self-motivation, flexibility and capacity to independently setup and conduct Experiments
You show interest on working in a multidisciplinary and multinational Environment
