We are looking to hire a
VP Sourcing or CPO
In this role, the VP Sourcing reports to the CEO and manages all current international sourcing activities and develop strategy to grow future international sourcing partnerships. This position significantly contributes to TMHI's financial performance by developing and executing buy strategies for assigned commodities/categories that support aggressive growth plans and stated cost savings and supplier performance targets.
The VP Sourcing works closely with regional sourcing teams and internal customers such as: engineering, sales & tenders, manufacturing, supply chain, projects and finance. This position will be expected to establish credibility as a subject-matter expert for assigned commodities/categories and also support or lead complex and cross-functional projects related to manufacturing, services, materials management and customer fulfillment.
As a key hands-on member of the management team, accountable for vision and responsible for: Buy strategy, strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, supplier quality and development, supplier relations and development of sustainable strategic sourcing partnerships, localization strategy and implementation
Executes make /buy analysis to ensure competitive solutions
Sources products and services including sub systems
Ensures that service requirements are taken into consideration for all sourcing activities
Performs supplier audits,
Negotiates tooling, pricing, and supply agreements
Performs sourcing activities in support of cross-functional new product /Services development teams
Manages supplier relationships through supplier performance metrics and scorecards
Leads cross-functional procurement teams to meet company financial objectives
Works closely with engineering , sales and projects to assess and ensures supplier capability to meet established performance objectives including product/service approvals and project execution timelines
Manages the total cost of ownership for all assigned commodities including terms, freight, unit cost, and inventory cost
Drives continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers - Kaizen, etc.
Supports country/ site materials teams focused on executing day to day activities including monitoring incoming shipments, expediting, invoice matching, corrective action, and project tracking
Monitors global commodity indexes and macro-environment trends to ensure uninterrupted flow of product /services at current or better cost
Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred.
15 year’s procurement/sourcing management experience within an international industrial organization with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role driving business initiatives across the organization.
Knowledge and experience
International experience in the Railway industry/services and its established suppliers network
Strategic sourcing experience particularly in localization with demonstrated success in achieving targeted cost reductions
Proven experience in establishing and maintaining business relationships with suppliers in support of achieving company financial objectives
Knowledge of plant manufacturing and services processes, material and production control, material specifications, lean manufacturing/continuous improvement, and advanced negotiation techniques
Experience with formal problem solving tools and reporting – 8D, PDCA, etc.
Demonstrated leadership and change management skills
Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
Proven ability to use resourcefulness and initiative to make decisions and take actions to avoid material shortages or losses, keeping abreast of market trends, alternative processes and new technologies costs
Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment
Proven communication skills in oral and written form
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and globally
