The AO Foundation is a medically guided, not-for-profit organization led by an international group of surgeons specialized in the treatment of trauma and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Founded in 1958 by 13 visionary surgeons, AO fosters one of the most extensive networks of currently more than 19,000 surgeons, operating room personnel, and scientists in over 100 countries.

AO Clinical Investigation & Documentation (AOCID) is an institute of the AO Foundation with the mission to be a leading research organization providing evidence-based knowledge through independently conducted clinical studies, education, and methodological services, in order to facilitate clinical decision making in the field of trauma or musculoskeletal disorders. AOCID supports clinical research in more than 300 clinics worldwide for the AO Clinical Divisions and the AO Technical Commission.


We are looking for the following highly motivated person to join our team in Davos or Dübendorf:

Project Manager Clinical Operations

In this role you will be required to

- Plan and manage clinical studies within the framework of scientific and legal guidelines including budgeting and financial controls and reporting
- Prepare and coordinate and if required, conduct site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and site close-out visits
- Develop and adapt Clinical Investigation Plans, Case Report Forms, and documents for ethics commission submission
- Control quality of clinical data
- Compile and archive study documents (e.g. study planning protocols, clinical data, imaging etc.)
- Periodically review study budgets
- Provide status information on study data to AOCID Management and sponsor as required
- Search literature
- Maintain contact with Principal Investigators and Study Coordinators
- Evaluate and interpret clinical data in collaboration with the Biostatistician, the Medical Advisor and the Medical Writer
- Coordinate the preparation and development of Final Study Reports
- Develop and submit abstracts and scientific publication
- Assist in optimizing quality standards and Standard Operating Procedures
- Give internal and external presentations and training associated with the studies

In order to master this challenge you have

- MSc in natural science, PhD would be a plus
- Experience in clinical research is essential
- Basic medical knowledge
- Two years of practical experience with project management
- Medical writing experience would be a plus
- Interest in methodological questions, strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills in German and English
- Attention to detail and reliability, ability to work both independently and in a team
- Flexibility and customer-focused mindset
