About the Syngenta Foundation The Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture is a non-profit organization established by Syngenta. Both organizations are committed to sustainable agriculture. The Syngenta Foundation works to improve the livelihoods of "pre-commercial" smallholders in developing countries. Syngenta mainly concentrates on customers operating large or medium-sized farms. The Syngenta Foundation is a separate legal entity, currently working in about 15 countries.
Syngenta Foundation - Communication Manager
Work with the Head of Communications to raise international appreciation of the Syngenta Foundation across its key audiences.
In close cooperation with the Director and other staff, help increase the Foundation's attractiveness for potential contributors to our project funding.
Enhancement and expansion of the Foundation's digital presence
Attractive presentation of the Foundation's work, in text and images, including the production of case studies and the presentation of impact study results, for use across a wide range of communication media
Live presentation of the Foundation to many different audiences
Preparation and management of conferences hosted by the Foundation, and of our staff's contributions to outside events.
Knowledge and/or experience of communication related to agriculture, development and/or the non-profit sector
Full written and spoken fluency in English and at least either French or German is essential. Working knowledge of a further relevant language for the Foundation (e.g. Portuguese, Dutch, Swahili, Hindi, Mandarin) is an advantage
5 - 10 years' experience in communications teams, with a strong emphasis on digital strategy and tactics
Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
An engaging writing style, ideally combined with basic design skills
Public speaking enjoyment and energy
Strong organizing skills
A close identification with the use of technology to improve livelihoods in developing countries
Strong team skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, multicultural environment close to the corporate sector
Keenness to interact with a wide range of external partners at varying levels of seniority
There are no direct or indirect reports to this role
The role has a global geographical scope
A small amount of travel is required
