Senior External Communications Manager

Bayer Consumer Health has a strong portfolio of brands including Bepanthen, Iberogast and Berocca and is looking to drive market leadership in the consumer health industry. This newly created role is part of the Global External Communications team, which has recently been established to drive the integration of PR into the marketing mix, developing consumer centric global PR programmes aligned to the strategic objectives of the brands and categories. The role will partner with the market communications teams to ensure the adoption of programmes and track performance. It will also be instrumental in delivering above brand activity to demonstrate our category leadership and positively impact the overall reputation of the business, as well as effective issues mitigation and management.

Tasks/Responsibilities
Operates as a member of Global Category Business Unit
Leadership team, providing strategic counsel and planning on
category and brand level influencer marketing / PR which deliver
business outcomes
Acts as the strategic lead for the development of brand specific
PR programmes, embedding PR in the marketing planning to
identify its strategic role and creating the associated strategy and
toolkit for market activation
Establish and co-ordinate horizon mapping process to effectively
anticipate and prepare for issues and enable a timely and
appropriate response where required. In addition, identify
opportunities to mitigate risk through proactive communications
strategies.
Drive global influencer mapping and management by
brand/category in partnership with markets to build engagement
and equity
Partners with in market communicators to drive the activation of
earned media within priority markets, tracking performance
against global KPIs and evaluation of results embedding PR in
econometric modelling
Manages PR agency selection with clear management plans and
KPIs to deliver strategic, insight driven programmes on time and
within budget with performance incentives
Partners with other Global Category Business Unit
Communications leads to identify opportunities for global
campaigns/stories/content on Bayer Consumer Health owned
channels
Act as the communications lead for the category team on
developing the over-arching Bayer Consumer Health corporate
PR and purpose thought leadership programme
Embed PR/Influencer Marketing capability programme into the
Global Category Business Unit with regular training, external
influence and best practice sharing
