Scope of the position:
As a professor, you will be responsible for such lectures as production systems, logistics, ERP-software as well as introductory courses on engineering on the Bachelor- and Masters levels as well as in further education. Furthermore, you support the development and realization of a modern Industry Lab at the Bern University of Applied Sciences and is responsible for the supervision of interdisciplinary student project works. In addition, you have to acquire and execute practice-oriented research and development projects with partners in industry or other funding bodies. Finally, as a professor for Logistics, you should contribute to the strategic development of the teaching and research activities about Digitalization and Industry 4.0 at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, in particular for the new study program in Industrial Engineering and Management Science.
We are seeking an individual preferably with a doctoral degree or an equivalent track record and a completed course of study in the fields of industrial engineering, logistics, mechanical or electrical engineering, informatics, or comparable. You are required to have expertise in at least one of the following topics: Supply chain management and operations management, MES/ERP systems in the context of production planning and control, factory planning, industrial engineering, intralogistics, manufacturing and production technology, or Industry 4.0. In addition, you should have experience in applied research as well as practical applications in industry. Lastly passion for teaching and didactic competences in English and German as well as distinct interpersonal skills are required.
