For our Finance Department at the European headquarter based in Basel we are now looking for a
General Ledger Manager (m/f )
In this challenging role you have the overall accounting and close responsibility for a number of specific legal entities in the EMEA region. Your are in charge of the US GAAP as well as the statutory accounts of these entities and act as a liason with the Fossil Shared Service Center in Eggstaett/Germany, the local FP&As, the Corporate head office in Dallas and external partners (auditors, tax advisors).
Overall, responsibility for the financials of specific legal entity(s)
Participate in multiple aspects of the US GAAP, Month End Close process including posting and reviewing journal entries as well as partnering with the FSSC to ensure financial accuracy
Prepare and review and account reconciliations and reserves
Partner with Finance to prepare and present financials to local, regional and corporate management
Partner with Internal, External Auditors on US-GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley audits
Manage tax activities, liaise with local tax authorities and tax advisors, responsible for year-end tax accruals, ensure transfer price documentation is adequate
Partner with local authorities to ensure statutory financial requirements are met
Identify process improvements, develop and implement solutions in coordination with respective project leaders
Minimum 5 years experience in period close work in multinational company
Leadership experience in similar position
Strong communication and analytical skills
Profound IT skills (SAP, Hyperion, MS Office - in particular Excel)
Professional Finance and Accounting qualification (Bilanzbuchhalter, US CPA, UK Chartered Accountant, Fachhochschule or similar)
English and French (fluent), any additional language (e.g. German , Italian) is an advantage
