Global Stewardship Manager - Digital Initiatives
To develop proactive stewardship and sustainability initiatives as part of the Syngenta's business strategies in order to grow our business, ensure the safe and sustainable use of Syngenta's portfolio, manage in-market risks and to protect our licence to operate
To manage global stewardship initiatives, including the development of a digital stewardship strate-gy encompassing pesticidewise.com
To support and guide local stewardship team members in implementing im-pactful stewardship initiatives around the world
The key accountability of the Global Stewardship Manager - Digital will be to:
Proactively partner with the business, to develop innovative stewardship strategies to capture opportunities and manage risks
Provide advice on stewardship options that will support Syngenta's freedom to operate and sustain products in the market place
Build an effective network with internal and external stewardship stakeholders to enable Syngenta to proactive enhance its Freedom to Operate
Manage global stewardship initiatives/projects, including the development of a digital stewardship strategy encompassing pesticidewise.com, including managing relationships with agencies and associated budgets
Provide strategic and technically-robust advice to the business on the stewardship of our current and future Crop Protection products
Ensure best practice stewardship approaches, from both within Syngenta and beyond are identified and shared, including through sustainability & stewardship capability building initatives
Help build the Syngenta science behind sustainability through being involved in projects that inves-tigate how science (behavioural, social & natural) can help improve safe and sustainable use
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
Fluent in English and preferably having skills in other languages
Project management skills
Well-developed communication and presentation skills
Understanding of contemporary approaches to digital communication, website and app development and behavior change.
Understanding of stewardship, science and/or scientific communication, and an ability to develop a deeper understanding of Syngenta portfolio and how to mitigate potential risks.
Good understanding of agronomic practices and technologies relevant for safe & sustainable use.
Knowledge of Syngenta's portfolio of products, their safety profiles, risks, and how they are used, or an ability to develop such knowledge
Understanding of the external environment affecting the plant science industry and how this affects its licence to operate
Understanding of Syngenta's operating policies and the importance of compliance, or a willingness to build such knowledge.
5 years' of varied work experiences from several different relevant business functions, e.g. stewardship/CP or customer marketing/corporate affairs, in a multinational context
Experience in customer marketing, digital marketing and/or campaign management
A university degree in marketing/(science)communications/digital communications, preferable at a post-graduate level, or a comparable business education/experience
Proven track record in results orientation and project management
Proven ability to work within and contribute to cross-functional teams
Proven experience of successfully managing cross functional collaborations, a good overall business acumen, and understanding of the challenges in/from the "real" market place
Track record from independently and successfully managing projects and/or business processes
Experience working and successfully delivering initaitives in Latin America, Asia or Africa would be an advantage.
