With offices in the Zurich area, this Swiss subsidiary represents over 20 million euros in sales and employs around 65 engaged collaborators active in Germany, Austria and Poland. In order to sustain the organizational changes which have been put in place over the last few months, our client is looking for an experienced and hands-on accountant (m/f)
Ensuring reliability and accuracy of the books
Reporting to the Regional Head of HR and Finance, your role as Accountant for the activities in Austria and Germany is to:
Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Document financial transactions by entering account information
Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Provide comments on those discrepancies by asking questions to the concerned departments
In collaboration with the external accountant, make sure the monthly closing is done in a timely and accurate manner
Introduce invoices in the system and check if they are in line with the budget
Secure financial information by completing data base backups
Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Prepare salaries for payment by external partner, VAT declaration and Intrastat reports
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing expected results as needed.
We are looking for aresult-oriented Accountant with thorough analytical and communication skills. Your self-confidence along with judgement and common sense allow you to identify problems, be persistent, realistic and critical in drawing your own conclusions and giving the right recommendations to the business.
Bachelor degree – or equivalent by experience - in Accountancy or Business Administration
Min. 5 years of relevant experience as Accountant
Hands-on experience within a human sized sales organization
Sound business mindset with strong problem solving as well as organizing skills
Entrepreneurial mindset and eager to improve processes in order to make them more efficient
Operational drive, proactive and able to work both autonomously and as a part of a team
Fluent in German and English
