About the department
The role of Global Medical Affairs Director for haemophilia sits within the Global Medical Affairs Biopharm team based in Zurich, Switzerland reporting to the Vice President Global Medical Affairs Biopharm. In this function you will be leading a team of Global Medical/Scientific professionals covering all indications for commercially available as well as pipeline products within haemophilia and rare bleeding disorders. Working in a truly global role the successful applicant will be working closely with the medical affairs biopharm/haemophilia teams in affiliates, Global Research and Development; Marketing/Market access teams to provide Medical Affairs expertise for haemophilia marketed products and pipeline products. In this role you have the possibility to develop and execute Global Medical Affairs strategy in haemophilia.

The Job
You will act as a leader of Medical Affairs Haemophilia team, being responsible for developing and implementing global medical affairs strategy and plans in haemophilia and rare bleeding disorders. You will lead, coach, inspire and motivate Medical Affairs specialists in your team, delegate responsibilities and assignments, being responsible for budget management, drive performance management and team development. You will represent Global Medical Affairs Haemophilia externally and internally. You will ensure high quality scientific communication, development and execution of various global medical affairs activities nurturing credible, reliable KOL engagements. Furthermore, you will ensure solid scientific guidance is provided to affiliates, Haemophilia Global Development & Research, Regulatory, Safety and Global Marketing Project teams. The position will require strong strategic skills, leadership, stakeholder alignment, high degree of independence and decision making.

Qualifications
  • MD (medical doctor degree) with haematology/haemophilia clinical background/experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Medical Affairs on global level (in haematology/ haemophilia is an advantage)
  • Previous leadership/managerial experience for minimum 3 years
  • Able to lead and perform in a highly dynamic, changing and diverse environment
  • Strong business acumen and excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong communication skills, including scientific communication, data analysis and interpretation
  • High level of proficiency in verbal and written English
  • Readiness to travel internationally (approximately 40%)
