US-funded, Silicon Valley drone startup is looking for an enthusiastic mechanical engineer to join its team in the Zurich area.
Sunflower Labs is building the next generation home security system combining an outdoor distributed sensor network with a flying security camera.
We are looking for a mechanical engineer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of engineering. Responsibilities will include the mechanical design of a quadcopter and the enclosure design for remote sensors. You will work with designers, and electrical and aeronautical engineers to design the airframe for a drone and the mechanical enclosure for remote sensors.

Mechanical engineering and design of an enclosure for remote sensors
Work with electrical engineers in the development of PCB assemblies, specify keep-out areas, determine component interference, and generate PCB outline drawings
Support the generation of Bill of Materials
Interface with electrical design engineers, component engineering and manufacturing engineers
Collaborate with designers and electrical engineers
Responsible for maintaining the CAD library
Responsible for the development and execution of environmental testing of enclosure (including temperature, humidity, vibration, etc.)
Develop manufacturing processes and assembly instructions
Perform structural and thermal analyses as required to support component and system design optimization
Skills and Qualifications
Good oral and written skills in English and German
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Must be flexible and be able to work in a multicultural environment
Must have experience in related engineering fields
Experience with tolerance analysis and injection molding
Experience with environmental impact on products and environmental testing
Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
