Sunflower Labs is building the next generation home security system combining an outdoor distributed sensor network with a flying security camera.
We are looking for a drone software engineer with excellent software development and electrical engineering skills who is motivated to work on drones in a local startup. Responsibilities will include the development of a obstacle avoidance system and drone charging station. You will work with other drone engineers and electrical and aeronautical engineers to develop software for quadcopters.
PX4 flight stack development
Develop an obstacle avoidance solution
Evaluate sensors and develop algorithms for high precision navigation
Work with electrical engineers in the development of custom flight boards and camera gimbal boards
Write software and hardware requirements, design descriptions, and test procedures
Participate in decisions for the electrical and mechanical design of airframe
Develop SITL and HITL simulations
Develop an integrated camera solution for both video encoding and computer vision tasks
Run tests and evaluate test results
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with PixHawk hardware and PX4 flight stack a must
Familiarity with working with bootloaders and OTA firmware updates
Experience in building stable and well tuned UAVs
RC experience preferred
Experience with ROS and Gazebo preferred
Good oral and written skills in English and German
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
Must be flexible and be able to work in a multicultural environment
Must have experience in related engineering fields
