What does the role involve?
Your work starts with the strategy development of your category - this provides you with the fact base to identify project needs. It also globally aligns your project pipeline to improve performance and productivity. Key procurement & sourcing projects are then in your direct responsibility. Your stakeholders will be the entire R&D community - together with them you will define and execute the strategic projects to find and effectively work with the best suppliers for research & development to fuel the Hilti innovation pipeline. You need a broad personal portfolio to earn your seat at the table of the executive decision makers. Your ability to bring across complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing (English and German) - is important.
What you need is:
Master degree in industrial engineering, engineering, business administration or related discipline with emphasis in operations and supply chain is preferred
Functional know-how on strategic sourcing initiatives (RFx, auctions), procurement, fact-based negotiation, industry benchmarking is a benefit
First working experience in an international company or consulting environment
Strategic and flexible mind-set with result orientation plus intellectual curiosity
Effective team player and networker who is capable to drive projects in a global matrix structure
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
