What does the role involve?
The development of customer software is the strategic pillar of our corporate strategy. Thus, a vendor management office will be launched and the Strategic Vendor Manager will implement the processes including strategic & tactical interfaces and coach Tactical Vendor Managers and Analysts. Your major responsibility will be strategic vendor portfolio management to evaluate, track and mitigate third party risks. Therefore, you analyze and screen industries and market trends (e.g. new technologies, offshore-, nearshore footprint). By supporting the execution of tenders (Rfx) you bring in new vendors. Your excellent networking skills help you to deliver a precise cross-unit project demand planning & forecasting. In case of non-performance or risk topics you take responsibility and support on escalation.
What you need is:
Master's degree preferably in industrial engineering, business engineering, mathematics, business administration, information management or computer science
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an international company or consulting environment
Strategic and flexible mind-set with result orientation plus intellectual curiosity
Effective team player and networker who is capable to drive projects in a global matrix structure
Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing (English and German)
