Packaging Senior Engineer 100%
In this multifaceted position you will be responsible responsible for the developing and verification of a wide variety of packaging designs to support the development of orthopedic implants and associated devices that are of a complex nature. You will be working in a cross functional product development environment and participating in as well as leading projects. The scope of the projects can also include CAPA, cost saving, site transfer, standardization and phase out initiatives. You will be working with other sites for packaging related projects, to roll out and maintain global standards. If you have experience with packaging materials, equipment and related processes in the manufacturing environment and bring strong communication and organizational skills, you might be the right person for this position.
Your main responsibilities:
Initiate, lead and monitor or participate as key SME in NPI, cost saving, site transfer, standardization, CAPA, and phase out initiatives. This may also include introducing new procedures, designing concepts and alternative packaging materials through to commercialization
Apply and comply with internal business and engineering process requirements. Identify gaps and proactively initiate actions to close them
Develop, verify and implement packaging solutions for sterile and non-sterile medical devices
Create all relevant documentation to support DHF, RA-Submission or other relevant files and maintenance on SAP or global PLM - That includes but is not limited to specifications, test protocols and reports, risk management file, DCTM and change log files
SME for Standards, CAPA, Complaints and NCR’s, Change Management, Supplier Audit, Process and design FMEAs, Post Market Surveillance
Close collaboration with regional sites and internal stake holders like Product Engine, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Purchasing, QA, amongst others to establish a high service level and proactively answer support requests
Collaboration with suppliers for packaging material, for testing services or other service provider
Support and participate in internal and external audits
Create business cases and other documentation required to support projects launches
Apply detailed understanding of tests needed for design verification including lab support during testing.
Comply with global laws and standards (MDD, FDA, amongst others), GSOP’s, ZWI’s
Your Qualifications and Experience:
BSc or MSc Degree in Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering or other Natural Sciences, preferably in Packaging Engineering with specialization in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Packaging
3-6 years of professional experience in relevant positions / industries
Good knowledge of ISO13485 (Design Controls) and ISO11607 (Packaging Validation)
Proven professional background with CAPA management, DHF maintenance, planning, executing and summarizing packaging testing
Successful regional or global exposure or reporting line, in interdisciplinary positions with or without
Microsoft Office Suite and Project; Demonstrated ability to learn and apply multiple skill sets
Positive and “can-do” attitude, able to create positive energy with both individuals and groups
Customer oriented, open and collaborative personality
Sees intercultural diversity as a chance to be more successful
Ability to communicate fluently in German and English both orally and in writing
