MIDDLE OFFICE SPECIALIST - HONG KONG (100%)
This role will be based in Hong Kong and the relocation will take place after a short introduction period in Balzers, Liechtenstein.
The Advisory Services Desk stands in direct contact with major investors and performs various front & middle-office functions supporting investment advisors and the relationship management team. The team coordinates investment activities of various offshore entities as well as the flow of information amongst investors, investment advisors, portfolio management and the fund administrators.
The team is strongly client oriented and coordinates subscriptions and redemptions of investors, as well as any related corporate actions impacting the funds in line with the regulatory framework.
The Advisory Services Desk is responsible for the smooth operation of more than 50 investment companies and ensures compliance with the local regulations. The team coordinates the implementation of investments (listed and unlisted), replicates the bookkeeping of all funds, inclusive the control of the Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation, investor reporting as well as Cash management and liquidity planning.
The new team member would be required to obtain a good grasp of all the aforementioned activities, but the main focus would be as follows:
Investment implementation (all products listed and unlisted, focus Asian equity markets)
Overseeing investment allocations and avoidance of regulatory breaches
Cash Management, FX trade execution
Supporting the Sales Team and external stakeholders in respect of structuring, implementation and maintenance of investments through various vehicles for all types of equity and fixed income products as well as derivatives thereof. This includes pre-investment due diligence and observance of all regulatory considerations, which are associated with these types of investments (type: listed & unlisted).
Network Management (selection and interaction with global custodians and brokers)
Supervision of subscriptions and redemptions
Reconciliation of cash- and securities positions and shadow bookkeeping of fund accounting
Reconciliation of net asset values
Verification and distribution of fund data incl. NAVs to external parties
Preparation of regular reporting to investment managers
Involvement in projects as required
Degree in Business Administration and ideally 3-5 years work experience in securities dealing and/or middle office/fund administration
Keen interest in global financial markets particularly emerging markets
Ability to understand and use complex system software
Proficiency in English spoken and written, German a plus
Experience with various software solutions
