The Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship (RPF) program is aimed at supporting excellent young scientists focusing on collaborative R&D projects between Roche and international academic institutions. Both internal Roche and academic experts will mentor you, and you will have the potential to perform hands on research in both lab environments.
As a Roche Postdoctoral Fellow you will develop and apply new and emerging technologies to bolster our key efforts toward evaluation of candidates for therapy of vision-threatening eye diseases.
You will be working with a group of scientists within the Ophthalmology Discovery and Translation Area and Pharmaceutical Sciences, both within Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) in Basel, Switzerland. pRED is focused on the clinical translation of therapeutic approaches for vision-threatening diseases, including age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
In this project you will develop organ-on-a-chip mammalian tissue models of the inner and outer retina including perfused neuronal and vascular systems. You will also:

You hold a PhD or MD-PhD (obtained within the last 4 years) with evidence of training in vascular biology, tissue engineering, ophthalmology and visual sciences, immunology, and/or bioengineering. Additionally, you bring the following skills and expertise:
